Glasgow’s ruling Labour group has refused to be deflected by battles over sleaze allegations from tackling school closures.
The group this week endorsed plans by a task group of leading councillors, first revealed in The TES Scotland on September 5, to overhaul comprehensive education in the city that could lead to the closure of up to 10 secondary schools. The council hopes to buy off parents and staff if, as expected, it is allocated the bulk of the Government’s Pounds 15 million geared to school rationalisation.
