Some things do change, even in the Educational Institute of Scotland. The issue of the Scottish Educational Journal celebrating 150 years of promoting sound learning contains a facsimile of the launch issue in 1876 of the Educational News, the SEJ's precursor. Reporting on the annual congress, it congratulates especially "our Glasgow friends" for their contribution. Not an accolade conferred by the leadership in some more recent years.
