The local authority breakdown shows major differences , East Renfrewshire and Glasgow retaining similar positions as they do in Standard grade and Higher results. East Renfrewshire comes top in all three subjects for performance at level E in S2 for the first time and has also improved on its results at that stage - 75 per cent in reading (68 per cent last year), 63 per cent in writing (57 per cent) and 75 per cent in maths (70 per cent).
