New teachers hoping to remain in the classroom throughout their career will be able to earn up to pound;35,000, as part of a shake up of the teachers’
pay system.
The School Teachers’ Review Body has backed proposals by the Government, employers and the majority of teacher unions to scrap management allowances and replace them with teaching and learning responsibility payments. It has also created an “excellent teacher scheme”, intended as a gold standard for classroom teachers at the pinnacle of their job.
