THE National Foundation for Educational Research has just published a history of the organisation, NFER, the First Fifty Years 1946-1996.
It charts the birth of the NFER in 1946 when a group of educationists were inspired to create a body, independent of the universities, devoted to educational research, and its rise to become one of the world’s largest educational research organisations.
