The pay-by-results controversy rumbles on with Blunkett standing firm and teachers’ employers wanting something for the money
* Heads of opted-out schools estimate that the Government’s attempt to link teachers’ pay to performance could be the biggest single PRP scheme in Europe.
The Grant-Maintained Schools Advisory Committee said large schools may need to involve dozens of managers in PRP with massive training implications.
“For this reason we believe that the start date of September 1999 for such procedures is unrealistic,” it said.
