In “Targeting great expectations” (TES, 27 September) you suggest that experienced governors have been left baffled by our “Using assessment results” broadsheets. Our evidence suggests the contrary.

More than 1,200 governors and teachers are attending the eight oversubscribed seminars we are running over the next two months.

In particular, the overwhelming response from the primary sector suggests a huge desire to develop skill in handling and interpreting assessment data in key stages 1 and 2 so that it can be put to practical use in school improvement. Further using assessment results seminars will be available in Spring 1997. Details from Centre for the Study of Comprehensive Schools (CSCS).
