Gove’s Ofsted exemption risks shifting ‘outstanding’ schools into reverse gear

There is no conclusive evidence that academies have improved school performance here, or that “free schools” have done so in Sweden. Fragmentation of the state system will lead to social division. My advice to Michael Gove and his grubby reforms is that of rock band Van Halen: “Go ahead and jump!”
