(Photograph) - Grange Academy in Kilmarnock was one of the two winning schools in the UK finals of the Challenge Award for Citizenship, chosen from a short leet of six in London on Tuesday. The Barclays New Futures award, billed as the UK’s largest education sponsorship programme, attracts pound;8 milion over eight years from Barclays Bank. It is worth pound;20,000 to the school and will be used to develop a trailblazing initiative in which hearing students and teachers learn sign language to enable them to integrate with deaf pupils.
