The hugely popular Gridclub, designed by media, software and education experts to make learning fun for seven to 11-year-olds, needs little introduction. Schools from Orkney to the Scottish Borders have signed up to the free site funded by the Scottish Executive and pupils regularly play the online games or discuss topics with chums in the secure chatrooms.

However, users can’t always get Internet access when they want it, admits Claire Edwards of 4Learning. So it has produced a set of CD-Roms that provide offline access to Gridclub’s hundreds of educational games and resources.

The Scottish version covers all subjects in the 5-14 curriculum andwill be launched at the SETT show.

The set of 10 CD-Roms and teacher’s notes cost pound;250. Contact Claire Edwards, tel 020 7306 5568
