So farewell Jim O’Neill, retired Scottish official of the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers. A wee dinner in his honour the other Friday in Glasgow was graced by the presence of NAS leader Nigel de Gruchy. The soundbite general secretary, who regularly complains about his members’ whingeing, was delighted to attend.
His name card at the top table gave the game away. Gruchy had become “Grouchy”.
