Jim Knight, schools minister, wants schools to create gardens to help young people develop greater enthusiasm for fruit and vegetables. He said helping young people "connect with the countryside" would help them to adopt more active and healthy lifestyles through understanding where their food comes from and the importance of healthy eating.
