Catholic and Muslim leaders will be issuing guidance shortly on whether their schools should take part in the national measles vaccination programme which began this week.
They met Dr Kenneth Calman, the chief medical officer, on Monday to discuss the ethics of originating the measles vaccine from an aborted foetus. Last week the heads of two leading Catholic boys’ schools said they would not be taking part in the programme.
