BELARUS. Almost nine years after the Chernobyl disaster schoolchildren are to have a new text book to help them live with the aftermath of fallout.
With the nuclear power station in Ukraine only 6km from its border, Belarus was in the path of contamination. The book aimed at 10-14 year olds, was produced at the International Sakharov Institute of Radio-Ecology in Minsk and contains instructions on radiation hygiene and protection against fall-out.
