My Beetroot Bible was an invaluable first resource to the highlights of Moscow and St Petersburg, but even on such a short trip I wanted a bit more detail. The current edition of The Rough Guide to Moscow took me straight to the Faberge eggs in the Kremlin’s Armoury Palace and the Matisses in the Pushkin museum and told me all I wanted to know when I saw them.

Moscow is a city changing faster than most, so the fourth edition (pound;9.99, www.roughguides.com), to be published in April, is welcome. As well as 16 introductory colour pages with photographs of the must-see sights and four pages of maps in colour, author Dan Richardson includes up-to-date reviews of the best places to eat, drink and be entertained.

TES readers can get their hands on one of the new editions weeks before they appear in bookshops. We have 10 copies of the new edition of The Rough Guide to Moscow to give away.

To enter our draw, email friday@tes.co.uk or send a postcard marked Rough Guide offer to the address on page 3 by February 18. Winners will be sent their copies in March.
