A teacher who submitted false mileage expenses claims has been found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct.

England’s General Teaching Council also found that Katherine Austin, who taught at Varndean college, Brighton, failed to visit students on outside placements, complete records and record assessment evidence. It ordered her to undertake annual training in record-keeping for three years and receive extra supervision if she took any similar role in the future.
