As 2017 comes to an end, anticipation is building in the private schools sector ahead of 2018’s Tes Independent School Awards.
And now we can exclusively reveal that hosting the glittering event will be writer, broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth.
Gyles is a veteran of QI and Have I Got News For You, as well as being a reporter on The One Show and a regular on Just a Minute. He is currently chancellor of the University of Chester.
The teacher returns
He is a familiar face within the sector, having attended an independent school himself, sent his children to an independent school and even taught at two independent schools.
The awards celebrate the best and brightest in private schools, and the ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House hotel in London’s Park Lane on Thursday 8 February.
The trophies up for grabs include boarding school of the year, pre-prep/prep school of the year, and the one everyone hopes to win: independent school of the year.
