Teachers attending the annual conference of the Voice education union this year will be urged to explore the lotus position and the “salute to the sun” - all in the name of teaching.
The union is hosting a seminar that explores how yoga postures and exercises can help children in nursery and primary classrooms.
The session will be run by June Rowlands, whose website states: “The ripple effect of yoga in schools is that not only are the children calmer, more focused and confident, but it also helps staff to feel less stressed and more centred in themselves, and better able to cope with educational challenges.”
