A teacher at an 1116 high school in Cheshire has spelled out to his MP the effects of a deficit of nearly Pounds 17,000 in the last financial year.
“This was not a casual overspend, nor due to carelessness, but the consequence of severe financial constraints on the school’s budget.
“This school’s finances are precarious, like those of many others in Cheshire, because so little is allocated, yet our county council budgets well abovethe level which our national Government regards as sufficient to run an acceptable education service and delegates almost all of its education budget to its schools.”
