Hard-hitting safety warning

A small number of children are killed and injured each year while playing on building sites, and each case is one too many. The CALA Group of developers has devised a pack for primary pupils to warn them of the potential dangers of unauthorised visits to all kinds of construction areas. Called “Building Sites Bite”, it is part of a learning programme which also involves a talk by a health and safety officer. The materials are hard-hitting, but they are designed to put children’s well-being before a deceptive sense of comfort. For information on “Building Sites Bite”, contact Carole Gray at CALA Group Ltd, Adam House, 5 Mid New Cultins, Edinburgh EH11 4DU.
