“A Company of Pleasures: Garden Renaissance at Hatfield House” runs at the Museum of Garden History, Lambeth Palace Road, London SE1 until early next year. It links the Tudor and Stuart period to the vision of Lady Salisbury, who created Hatfield’s magnificent Jacobean-style gardens over 30 years. The exhibition explores the influence of the Renaissance, the 16th and 17th century obsession with “new” plants and the complexity of formal garden design.
