Consultations will give an overview of Success for All and its place alongside other current education and training sector strategies. They complement the written consultation on implementation of the Framework for Success (Success for All Theme 4), described in Circulars LSC 0301 and 0302.

More than that, they present an opportunity for all colleagues and providers to have their say. The Learning and Skills Council wants to hear your views on Success for All and its implications for post-16 education and training.

These meetings include additional consultations on measures to cut red tape.

The Bueaucracy Busting Task Force, set up by the LSC in November 2001 to cut red tape in colleges, has expanded its work to cover more than 1,700 work-based learning providers funded by the council.

Sir George Sweeney, chair of the task force, says: “Work-based learning providers face the same issues of burdonsome bureaucracy as do the colleges. Many face worse problems, which the task force will tackle.”

Higher Education White Paper

The consultations below are designed to bring together key stakeholders including schools, colleges, universities, employers and organisations such as the local LSCs and regional development agencies.

They will give everyone the opportunity to ask questions of detail on the HE White Paper and to quiz ministers present at the event. There will also be the opportunity for you to air your views and discuss issues with your peers and other stakeholders.
