Head on a cloud

I read “Top female heads smash through boys’ public school ‘glass ceiling’” (November 27) with interest, as it addressed inequality that still exists in education.

It was a jolly article until the head Felicity Lusk said: “There is not much I don’t know about adolescent boys.” Really? Over the past 40 years I have been a policeman, youth leader, counsellor, school inspector and adviser on the education of Gypsy children, who are among the lowest-attaining pupils. I am still learning about youngsters, particularly what makes them tick in 21st-century multicultural Britain.

Ms Lusk needs to come down off her cloud if she thinks she has learnt everything about British society and its young people.
