Nicholas Pyke allows Hilary Carnihan to misrepresent events at Lewisham Bridge School (TES, May 29). Prior to inspection there was a history of recurring complaints left unresolved by the head, resulting in low staff morale, an ineffectual governing body, and high turnover of pupils.

The Office for Standards in Education report did not tell the children they had failed but rather, confirmed that the school was failing the children on a number of levels.
