New guidance to help schools decide whether to close in extreme weather conditions has been issued by the Assembly government. Heads are advised to make a regularly updated risk assessment and consider arrangements for pupils in Years 10-13 to minimise exam disruption. More than half of schools in Wales closed during last winter’s cold weather.
