SECONDARY heads are helping the exam authority in a recruitment drive, George Ross, secretary of the Headteachers’ Association of Scotland, said.
“We would encourage people to become involved in marking because it’s part of professional development.” Higher paments and more SQA staff development would help.
“When we highlighted an issue with marking early on, it was not an attack on markers. A lot of procedures surrounding the marking were either missing or not carried out in the same way,” Mr Ross said.
