Heads set to act over pensions

Nearly two-thirds of secondary school leaders in England are prepared to take national industrial action to protect their pensions for the first time. A poll by the Association of School and College Leaders - which shows that 63 per cent of respondents would take action to preserve their final-salary schemes - came on the eve of publication of the Hutton review of public sector pensions. Lord Hutton has already said that he considers final salary schemes “unfair”.
