DETAILS of a new system for the training of headteachers were unveiled this week as the Government announced who is to run programmes for the revised National Professional Qualification for Headship. Previously, the NPQH system was fragmened, with would-be heads forced to go to one provider for training, and another for assessment. The Government has replaced this with a system of regional “one-stop shops”, providing both training and assessment from this autumn.
