Schools and colleges have been invited to join European Action on Drugs (EAD), an information platform aiming to raise awareness on drugs misuse.

The EAD is run by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Justice, Freedom and Security.

Those interested in becoming involved should visit the EAD’s website, www.action-drugs.eu, and describe an action they are planning to take, or are already carrying out, that will either raise awareness about illegal drugs and the dangers of abusing them, highlight the potentially economic and social consequences of misusing them, or promote a healthy lifestyle among young people.

Activities might include art and drawing competitions, discussions and workshops, or events to raise awareness on drug abuse and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Signatories will receive a European Commission certificate, be listed on the EC website, receive newsletters and be invited to events, conferences and awards held across Europe. For more information, contact uk@action- drugs.eu or call 07527728366 by January 31.
