Extra money to support the education of children of migrant workers, Asylum Seekers and Gypsy Travellers in Wales into post-16 A-level studies has been announced by education minister Carwyn Jones. The funding for local authorities is available for this financial year through the pound;8.1 million ethnic minority achievement grant, a share of which will go directly to all local authorities, and the grant for education of Travellers, totalling Pounds 900,000, which will be shared between the LAs which originally pitched for an award.
