Two-thirds of pupils who care for ill or disabled family members say their schools do nothing to help them cope with their responsibilities. A survey of 350 school-aged carers by the Children’s Society revealed that only a third felt adequately supported by their schools and teachers. There are around 175,000 pupils acting as carers in Britain, but the society says many are afraid to ask schools for help.
