WHILE proposals for the history curriculum for 2000 may simply reflect classroom practice, this practice as described sounds odd (TES, January 19).
Why for example are the Tudors studied instead of the Stuarts? Is it because Henry VIII plays better to the back rows of desks?
And why is post-1945 history ignored. This raises the interesting prospect of a generation of school pupils who have never heard of Mrs Thatcher.
