The Egyptians are a popular topic for study at key stage 2 and are a gift in terms of inspiring pupils. The mystery of how the pyramids were built provides endless opportunities for research, speculation, a bit of practical work and even some creative writing. The arguments about the pyramids in this article provide an ideal opportunity to introduce pupils to historical interpretation. Finally, what about a brief recap on the Egyptians as part of a key stage 3 study, done as a comparison between the Egyptians and the Romans or other early civilisations studied. It could be a fun way of achieving the difficult aim of linking key stage 2 and key stage 3.
