From the National Maritime Museum, the Museum in Docklands and the Museum of London comes an online resource for teaching pupils about the history of the Port of London from Roman times to the present. Free to access and aimed at key stages 23, data on seven historical periods have been built into an interactive game called Time Pirates. Posters, stickers and postcards are also available to bring the resource to life and a teachers’ page provides resources, notes and curriculum links. PortCities also has sites about the history of ports in Bristol, Hartlepool, Liverpool and Southampton, each with interactive resources.
