West Dunbartonshire Council wants to collect stories from people with personal memories of the Second World War.
The Singer, Sirens and Silent Heroes project will collate the experiences for pupils to study online.
West Dunbartonshire Council’s section head of culture, Gill Graham, said memories of the Clydebank blitz, evacuation and other events would become “a rich educational resource for teachers, and a global legacy for young people and the wider community involved”.
The resource which emerges from the year-long project, part of Scotland- wide Their Past Your Future Scotland initiative, will be aimed at pupils throughout the country.
