Hold-ups in divorce

Hundreds of teachers hoping to end their marriages may have to tolerate their spouses a little longer, because public-sector pension reforms are causing delays to divorce proceedings. Information on the cash value of retirement funds - vital when splitting up a couple's assets - is being withheld because no date has been set for the switch from the Retail Price Index (RPI) to the Consumer Price Index, to which public-sector pensions are to be linked.
