The school-homework-bed lifestyle of far too many children, imposed by neurotic parents and politicians, reminds me of the song Where Did My Childhood Go?. Homework should be banned in primary schools and voluntary in secondary ones. Furthermore, lessons should not last for more than five hours a day, five days a week. If a child of mine was set a holiday project, it would get accidentally destroyed. Let teachers use their skills to teach pupils everything they need to know during the day. Parents who demand homework should be told they can’t have everything they want. A tiger mother is an unfit mother.
