IN YOUR article about the Terrence Higgins Trust’s campaign to combat homophobia in schools, (TES, September 7) Nick Seaton of the Campaign for Real Education is quoted: “I think the majority of parents and the majority of teachers will be horrified.”
Perhaps Mr Seaton could give one good reason why any caring adult should be horrified at the thought that some children’s lives could be made easier by preventing them being bullied?
Is it because the focus of the bullying is to do with sexuality, and if so, does Mr Seaton mean to imply that pupils who are gay deserve to be bullied? Your sexuality is not a choice, no more than is the colour of your skin. Anyone who advocates otherwise will have the blood of any pupil driven to suicide on their hands.
