The aforementioned Chris Keates spent last Saturday presenting prizes at the ninth annual NASUWT angling championship on the Stafford and Worcester canal.

The event was a great success, with 68 anglers enjoying an excellent day, but there was a downside for Keates: she thinks fishing is a barbarous blood sport. “I was impressed by their enthusiasm but kind of boxed in to doing the prize giving,” she admits.
