ICT prevalent in class, survey finds

More than half of all teachers use ICT in every lesson, and eight out of 10 welcome the use of social networking sites in education, according to a survey. Research carried out by networking company Netgear found that 58 per cent of teachers said they used ICT in all their lessons, and 77 per cent said they had seen a rise in classroom interaction as a result of the use of technology. The survey, carried out at this year’s BETT show for educational technology, also found that 80 per cent of teachers said networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, had a role in the classroom.
