Cloud network for Harris academies

The Harris Federation of academies in south London has invested in cloud computing technology - a virtual network of all its ICT services - to connect its nine member schools. The federation hopes that the computing platform will be able to support 40 institutions as its membership grows.

Parental portal for pupil progress

Assessment tool provider Classroom Monitor has developed a new online parental access portal. The aim is to drive up pupils’ standards and get parents involved in their learning by allowing them to access advice and resources based on individual assessments. It also enables teachers to control how much information on assessments is fed to parents. For details, visit www.classroommonitor.co.uk

App for communication with parents

ParentMail +Pay, a school-to-home communications service, is launching a mobile phone app so schools can send parents information, enable parents to pay for items and get authorisation for school trips and other events. It also connects multiple schools and clubs into one central parent account. It will be available to download from September. Visit www.parentmail.co.uk for more details.
