Pupils hit trail of the Irish bards

Northgate Managed Services, which supplies ICT services to schools, recently invited pupils from Liverpool on a literary and cultural visit to Northern Ireland. Pupils from one of the schools Northgate works with - Litherland High School, Liverpool - learnt about the places that inspired writers such as Seamus Heaney and James Joyce (pictured below). www.northgate-managedservices.com

Revision podcasts trialled

Pupils at two schools in Essex are hoping for great results after they signed up to the GCSEPod service, which makes GCSE revision podcasts available via mobile phones or iPods. The service is currently aimed at Years 9, 10 and 11 at Shenfield High School and Sawyers Hall College, across a range of subjects, including English, geography, history, ICT, maths, religious studies and science. www.gcsepod.co.uk

Showcase for benchmarking tool

Learning platform provider Frog is hosting a national learning platforms conference on 14 June at the ICC in Birmingham.
