* A new report says that ICT is effective for student retention and achievement in a range of further education colleges - but only if it’s being used by “confident and well-trained teachers who are focused on improving learning”. “IT Can Make a Difference if IT is Fit For Purpose”, published by the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA), says that “when used in combination with other strategies, IT can help to reduce student drop-out, increase motivation and boost performance”.
