MFL teachers strut their stuff

Modern foreign language teachers have the chance to share best practice on the use of technology in the classroom next month. The show-and-tell session provides an opportunity to learn from other practitioners in an informal setting and takes place at Nottingham High School’s new sixth-form centre on Saturday, July 11. Eee Pad rival to iPad

Taiwanese manufacturer Asus has unveiled its own tablet and e-reader devices to rival Apple’s iPad and Amazon’s Kindle. The Asus Eee Pad will be available in 10 and 12-inch screens and will use Windows, while an eight-inch Eee Tablet is being marketed as a combined e-reader and notepad, which claims to give users the feeling of writing on paper. The Eee Tablet will have 2GB of memory and is expected to go on sale later this summer for around #163;135.

Naace announces 2011 conference

Naace, the association for ICT teachers, has announced the date of next year’s annual strategic conference. The event, which will bring together ICT teachers from across the UK plus representatives of Government and industry, will take place from March 15-17.
