What is it?

Created to use as a 60-minute cover lesson, this project uses the USB vs. Digital Camera design challenge shown on Channel 5‘s The Gadget Show as its main resource. Watch the video clips in class and use the accompanying worksheet, which attempts to break down questions into distinct design process areas.

How can it be used?

This resource could be used as a stand-alone or extension task while functioning as a tool to increase pupil inclusion and involvement in the classroom. Or it could be used simply as a bit of fun while still providing some great input for pupils.

What else?

Why not try supplementing an in-depth product analysis session using the themes from this design comparison? The format is adaptable enough so it could easily be modified or differentiated for key stage 3 or 4 pupils. Simply rewrite the questions to enable access for less able students.
