Film Education and the British Film Institute (BFI) have banded together to run the Fantasy Film Festival - the latest initiative to give students a greater understanding of the film industry.
Film Fantasy Festival is a web-based competition open to 14 to 18-year-olds, who are asked to create their own short film festival. Entrants will be able to select between five and 10 films from 24 bfi Collections titles.
As well as choosing the films, students will have to provide a summary of how and why they created their chosen programme, devise marketing plans and produce publicity materials in a range of media. The winners will see their festival hosted at a local cinema and taken on a national tour during National Schools Film Week in October.
Registration forms, along with teachers’ notes, film synopses and downloadable images related to the films can be found at www.bfi.org.ukfff
The closing date is Friday, June 29.
