Have you come across reverse colonisation? It’s a term used for plants and crops being introduced here from other countries, American apples for example. It’s just one of the interesting facts about the history of plant cultivation to be found on Seeds of Trade, a new online resource on the Natural History Museum’s website. It is a virtual book, created jointly by Henry Hobhouse, author of Seeds of Change, and museum botanist and author Sandra Knapp. It is aimed at science students researching coursework and projects for key stage 4 and above.
