I FULLY agree with Marianne Talbot. As an immigrant from Pakistan who has lived in the inner city for three decades, two of which were spent working in multi-cultural education, I believe that education should enable our young people to increase their awareness of self and others, both now as well as in the future.

There isa danger in providing an education that is based solely on the current reality of pupils’ lives. Schools have to encourage ALL our children to dream and imagine. Only then will they have any hope of turning the seemingly impossible into a reality.
