There is too much focus on discipline and inclusion

THE Department for Education feels strongly that pupils should not be excluded from meals. This avoidance of exclusion is a major aspect of current social thinking: the main purpose of education is that noone should feel excluded from it.

There is nothing remotely disreputable in a preference for social equality over efficient education, but it should be recognised as such. Our main problem is that so very few people are interested in education.
