Independent schools' 'gilded cages' are rattled

Judging by the aggressive response from heavyweight doyens and doyennes of the independent sector, Martin Stephen's perceptive piece on the issues facing them has touched a raw nerve. I can clearly hear the sound of gilded cages being rattled.
